Known for its superior golf instruction, cozy ambiance and immaculate Donald Ross course, Pine Needles lives up to its reputation as a sanctuary of excellence.

Since it’s founding in 1895, Pinehurst has been synonymous with golf. Founded by James Walker Tufts, Pinehurst has grown into the undisputed Home of American Golf. Donald Ross, the famed golf course designer, laid out Pinehurst Courses 1, 2, and 3 between 1898 and 1910. Pinehurst No. 2 rising to the rank of Championship level play, hosting several U.S. Opens. These two legends vision for golf in the Sandhills area of North Carolina became a reality in short order and visitors flocked to Pinehurst. Pinehurst No. 4, recently redesigned by Gil Hanse in 2018, also boasts challenging play in a natural Sandhills setting. As of 2019, Pinehurst is home to nine courses in all, each with it’s own unique beauty and challenges.
